Month: October 2016

This is our parents’ guest room, which I have never actually stayed in, because when you live next door to your parents, you don’t find you ever have a need to stay overnight! (Maybe that’s why they were excited about becoming neighbors…) If some things look familiar, it’s either because my mom and I own a lot of the same items (including clothes!) or because I brought a few of my own things down to take photos.

Life has been pretty hectic here lately so we’ve been a bit missing on the blog we’ve been working away like crazy as we prepare for the holidays and a couple other things we have coming up that we are looking forward to sharing with you soon. Today though, I just wanted to pop in and say that I hope you all have a lovely weekend and to share one last set of autumn decorating photos of our house with you.

As I mentioned in my last post, I love looking at other people’s fall decor, but I don’t particularly love decorating my house for fall. I love the season of fall and all the fall activities that go along with it, but I just wish decorating-wise we could skip right on to Christmas!

I can’t believe it’s already mid October. It’s finally starting to feel a little like fall here and now that there are finally real pumpkins to be found I was able to add some to our dining room. These are my favorite ones – I just love the color of them and love how they look mixed in with some seeded eucalyptus.

I have a little bit of trouble with fall colors. I love them in other people’s homes, and they seem so warm and cozy and get me all excited for pumpkin patches and apple picking, but they just don’t seem to fit here. I love the season, but the deep, warm colors just leave me perplexed.

I hope you all had a lovely Tuesday! We have had the most beautiful weather here today that has put us all in a good mood! Today I wanted to share some new paintings from one of our favorite artists Deann! Her work is so incredible.
