I’m sharing a post that I did this past Summer, which addresses
many of the pressures we gals tend to place on ourselves.
It seemed to strike a chord with my readers then,
and I hope it does with you, too.

I don’t have as many followers
as she does

My house isn’t as ( clean, fancy, fabulous )

My kids aren’t as cute
as hers are

I don’t have it all together
like she does

I haven’t been published
like she has

I don’t get as many comments
as she does
as she does
I haven’t been to ( Paris, Italy, Hawaii )
like she has
like she has
I can’t ( sew, paint, write, photograph, craft ) as well
as she can.

I’m not as good
I am lacking
I’m not enough.
And to that, I say….
HORSE PUCKEY!!!!!
I see and sense this all the time in blogging,
and I know that I’ve felt it on occasion myself.

The truth is
No one else out there can be you as well as you!
You are special and one-of-a-kind
and blogging is so much richer having you as a part of it.

Well that is very well put! I love it, and was thinking something much along those lines this morning. It is hard not to compare, but we must remember we are doing this for ourselves, not the world!

Yes we ladies put a lot of pressure on ourselves. But do we know what goes on behind the scenes of the bloggers we admire? IS their home always that spotless, or just that way for photo shoots? Do they really do all that, and if so, when do they have time for family and for themselves? What AREN'T they telling us about their real lives? Blogs tend to show the glamorous side because, really, who wants to see the bad stuff?

Beautifully written…Hi Jennifer and Anne! I've been following Dear Lillie for a few months. Such a touching blog. I love the photos- you are seriously talented! What a gorgeous family- wishing you all the best as you enjoy your new little Lola bundle. So glad the surgery news was positive. It's a heartbreaking thing to fear for your child. You are all in my prayers. : )
So true. I always do tend to compare my decor/photography/children and life to others. Thank you for reminding us that we are all unique AND special. Both you ladies are awesome.

I've spent my whole morning on this beautiful blog (thanks to Emily's post listing her favorite blogs, though I can't seem to leave this one!) and had to stop and say this guest post is awesome!
