This year we thought it would be fun to add some red to our guest room for the holidays. Although it has a predominately “Christmassy” feel to it right now, by just removing things like the presents, nutcrackers and a few other things it could feel cozy throughout the winter. And we were especially excited to partner with Birch Lane to add some cheer to our guest room and to get it ready for our winter visitors.

Overall we want this to feel like a warm, cozy and festive space for our guests so we started with the Julia Quilt and Shams in Red that we added to the bed. That alone really warmed the room up! And then we added this Joy pillow to the bed as well.

A fun thing to do is to leave a small gift or two for your guests right on the bed so they have a fun little surprise when they arrive. This monogrammed candle is a great gift idea.

And I love that I will be able to use this preserved hydrangea look in this mint julep cup for years and years.

I love the light and elegant feel of the berry wreath pillow and think it would look pretty all winter long!

This double sided chalkboard is a fun accessory for our desk.

My absolute FAVORITE thing we added to this room are these skis! I absolutely LOVE them!

I absolutely love the vintage feel of this hooked pillow with the red bicycle on it and the cable knit pillow with the wood buttons adds such  cozy feel.

We added our “May your days be merry…” oversized sign on this wall (you can find it here in our shop)

I also played around with a slightly different look by mixing up the pillow and moving things around a little bit.

  1. Jennifer,
I love that you added some red to the guest room. It's cool that I have the same wrapping paper and little ornaments that go on top of the gifts. My theme this year is plaid and buffalo check. I think a lot of people are doing that too. Birch Lane is amazing and a great company to partner with. I have several of their catalogs by my bed right now with tons of items circled.
    Jenn
