Although it’s not quite done Jason’s living room is almost finished. This room had great bones – we loved the fireplace and french doors. We really just had to paint (Lillie and Lola of course loved the “pink” walls but Jason was not as big a fan) and then add well, pretty much everything. Ha!
Shortly after moving in my parent’s helped Jason paint the walls Galveston Gray and then Jamie painted the trim white and we painted the doors black. And right when Jason moved in he bought Jamie and Josh’s old IKEA couch off of them. After that the room stayed like that for almost a year. During the winter we added the rug and some gray chairs from Joss and Main and the lamps from Target seeing how there weren’t any overhead lights. And then this summer we fianlly got around to adding some more finishing touches. We were really watching our budget in this room and were quite excited to be able to use store credit at Joss and Main to get this really cool industrial looking coffee table for just $7 – yay! We also found this mirror in the garage that the previous owner had left so we figured we would try it above the fireplace. Even though it wasn’t necessarily what we would have chosen for the space you can’t beat free!  We built the shelves and made the Notre Dame Sign (you can read more about those both here), and then added the little side chair from HomeGoods and little table from Target.

The main thing we have left to work on is this wall that you can sort of see in this picture. We are on the hunt for a piece for below the TV and then the TV needs to be moved lower (that’s what happens  a TV gets hung without any female supervision…haha!)

  1. Beautiful as ever! I'm trying to locate the side table from Target…was that a recent purchase?

  2. It looks amazing Jennifer. I could move right in. I think it's really gender neutral. Anyone would feel comfortable living there. You always do such beautiful work.

  3. Seeing that baseboard heater makes me smile. I great up on Massachusetts and still remember putting wet mittens and socks on the baseboards to dry.
    I love your style!

    1. Thanks so much, Mandy! Unfortunately we don't have tutorials for either, although we plan to possibly sell the signs some time in the future.

  4. are all the doors in your house that same black color? is it ok to just do a few, or once you do one do all have to match?

  5. Love it, especially the gender neutral style of it all, my husband and I would both feel comfortable here. Thanks for sharing! Jeni

  7. Wonderful! You've done a great job! I've also looked online for that little table from Target. Could you be more specific with the name of the table or a link on their website. Did you buy it in store? If so, what department? Thank you so much!

    1. Thanks! I don't know the name of it, but we purchased it in the store. It was located in the home decor/furniture section in a row of side tables and smaller tables.

    2. Thanks Jennifer for taking the time to reply. It takes time for you to answer questions we have from time to time and that truly means a lot!
      Pam
